Hey people.
I’m back. For now, at least. Thanks for bearing with the multitude of exam/emo-based posts for the past few weeks. But now that I am a man free from academic duties (at least until MAT 2377 and ADM 1100 come to claim me over the summer), I will provide my first real blog post in quite a while…since the 5th of April, in fact @.@
Some of you may remember this post, which was a compendium of random pictures taken throughout my stay in Canada. Now the Silent Cartographer returns, maintaining the approach of utilizing pictures which aren’t necessarily the prettiest, yet serve the purpose.
Note that a recurring theme will be the EDS 24 Hour Debatathon, held earlier this year in the University Centre.
Cheers folks! =D
Right, here we go. Here’s where it all started -
BYTOWN:
The Hotseat.
The Pretender.
The Graben.
Also known as The Ottawa Valley.
The tale continues.
BIARKAN LIDAH BERTARI-MADA:
EDS 24 Hour Debatathon.
Red Rage Rouge.
Please, Donate For Charity -
- Oh, C’mon -
- Have A Hart.
(XD?)
Fully-fledged Combat -
- Australasian Style.
The story continues with the -
HOME STRETCH:
You may have seen this building…on Wikipedia.
Precipitation.
Beautiful Veins and Bloodshot Eyes.
Let It Die.
The Monolith of Marie Curie.
Desolater.
WW III, IV, V, VI.
When Ancient Ice Leaves Its Mark.
And now, a quartet to complete the set -
THE FOUR SEASONS OF CANADA:
Spring.
Summer.
Fall.
Winter.
“This is the driest thing I know. Silence all round, if you please!”
‘William the Conqueror, whose cause was favoured by the pope, was soon submitted to by the English, who wanted leaders, and had been of late much accustomed to usurpation and conquest. Edwin and Morcar, the earls of Mercia and Northumbria…’

Firstly HEY ari tu cakap tade gambar nak tukar2 =.= + XD?
Secondly and more relevantly, I have to say that the first and second pics BAPAK CANTIK SIOT @.@ @.@ @.@ That is parliament hill, I presume? In… spring? @.@ (LOL cepat gila pokok tumbuh daun XD)
I think I would have more comment if I had not been struck by this randomly sudden confusion: what season is it there at the moment, eh? @.@ I mean, winter was in December, and you should have spring now already, but why the heck is it still snowing? @.@ And and and, bukan nak (DAH) SUMMER break ke??! @.@ @.@ @.@ LOL gila confusing @.@ (it began with me wondering bila pulak ko dah experience all four seasons lol? @.@ + XD?)
That aside, I like the last two pictures and their captions XD

And WOOHOO Alice in Wonderland!!! (WTH? XD) And last, am I correct to say that there is at least one caption is referring to a song? Yang lain a bit difficult to decide if there were any implicit meanings lol =p

@ Anemot:
*babab* Ko mmg ahahaha XD
I just like neat tables, that’s all LOL.
@ Atifiano:
Yes, you are absolutely right-there are captions which directly reference songs =) And LOL, takder maksud/allusion/symbolism je pun, they just happened to be the tunes I was listening to at that time lol XD
I think the source of your confusion is the assumption that all the pictures were taken recently? This is NOT the case lol. In fact, the only recent picture is the one captioned “Spring” @.@ The rest are all taken from my collection of photo albums and slammed together in this random compendium.
(which was the spirit of The Silent Cartographer in the first place pun lol)
To illustrate how “diverse” this collection is, know that the first picture was taken in the FIRST WEEK of my arrival here in Ottawa (@.@ + XD?). All the pictures with snow/ice/precipitation in them were taken somewhere in January – February, and the debatahon took place late Jan 2008.
So…yeah. These pictures aren’t exactly recent?
XD

Hey hey hey!!!
New layout! =D
*babab babab babab*
Regarding the captions of the pics kan, I think part yg paling best yang “Let It Die” tu. LOL, even if it was randomly a title of a song, (as far as I can recall Three Days Grace punye band ade lagu entitle Let It Die), tapi macam kena ngan gambar tu.
Hehe.. Actually just dropping by to inform..
… that I might be going to Midwest.
Huhu… Finger crossed! x___x

@Farah:
Hey awesome dia datang Ottawa lagi! =D Hope to see you around as well!! I’ll only be around till Friday though (debate tournament in Waterloo this weekend).
Do buzz me bila sampai eh? Btw, tujuan visit-business? Pleasure? Or an amorphous mix of both lol.
@Anemot:
A’ah new layout =D I thought the old one was a bit too…overused (and UGLY, although I never really set myself on changing it @.@) thus you see what is here now =D
Confirm gi MidWest ek? =D Is the family okay with that and all? Also it won’t screw up your classes? Hope they all go okay!! =D
*babab sesuka hati* XD XD XD
@Afifah:
Hey hey hey look who’s here! Lama tak dengar citer! And LOL I NEVER thought about it being “feminine” @.@ Is it really? Ahahaha, I can feel ten generations of RMC founders and students turning in their graves LOL.
And YES we did Australs style!! At this point I proudly announce that it was much due to my insistence that “other regions’ styles be performed” ahaha! There was also a girl from U of Western Australia there, and the two of us lobbied for an Australasian round-and we got it in the end lol!
How have you been?
PS-Saya nak copy bulletin saya =p
@AtfianoBilliamHeil:
Ahahahaha, glad you like it =D
