Discotheque…discotheque…discotheque…
=D!!!
Most of you who know me well/visited my blog frequently in recent times will know that my craze in music is currently gravitating towards the Irish quartet more commonly known as U2. Ask you may, why did I actually settle on a band with few guitar solos, standard song structures and pop-based lyrics? Well, I guess the answer is that for some reason, U2’s music apparently seems to strike a chord with my – this may sound corny, so be warned – soul. I have lost count of the amount of times I have been wowed by their simplistic song structure, coherent band play, and introspective lyrics. For all of these reasons I guess, U2 has the honour of being the band that has produced the most songs that have actually coaxed liquid out of my tearducts LOL.
Dubious confession by a guy who is an ex-RMC graduate LOL, but bear with me. Not all the songs have made me tear due to their emotional content though – sometimes I get emotional just listening to the arrangement, or the energy and meaning behind the song; I like to call the whole affair artistic emotional coherence. Anyway, for fun’s sake I am choosing to list here all of the band’s songs that have successfully acted as tearjerkers for me – maybe you can try them out and see if the same happens to you =p Here goes:
And Prae, stop laughing =.=” You little Thai monster (lol WTH XD) XP

That’s the list for now =) This listing is not permanent and definite – yet more songs could be added over time; the possiblity of this is quite high, as I am still yet to collect five of U2’s full-length studio albums lol – namely the albums of War, The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum and also Achtung Baby =)
The collection shall continue! XD + =D?
…and I think it applies to me.
I now realize that I crave approval.

OTTAWA SHOW DATE RESCHEDULED:
15/06/2009.
For all of our friends with tickets to the sold out show in Ottawa on October 29, we hope that date is on your calendar in pencil! We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but that show has changed dates and we will now be at Scotiabank Place five days later on November 3. Of course your tickets will be good then, and if you cannot join us on the new date, you may return your tickets to the place you purchased them for a full refund. And for your trouble, everyone who attends the show on November 3 will receive a voucher for a free MP3 download of the show that can be redeemed at www.livemetallica.com.
We’re happy to report that it has nothing to do with oysters, but can only tell you right now that the date change is due to a scheduling conflict with a very cool event coming up around that time. We wanted to let you know about the new date in Ottawa ASAP, but we’ve been sworn to secrecy on all other fronts, so check back here . . . more details in mid to late July.

The deluxe version of U2’s The Joshua Tree – from 2007’s remastered rereleases. A double disc set containing the original album – remastered, of c0urse – on the first disc, a bonus CD with b-sides and rarities from The Joshua Tree sessions, and a 36 page booklet…all encased in a nifty hardcover case. Very, very hard to find indeed >.<

Kinda surprising for an album ranked 26th on The Rolling Stones’ 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, don’t you think?
