Most of you who know me well/visited my blog frequently in recent times will know that my craze in music is currently gravitating towards the Irish quartet more commonly known as U2. Ask you may, why did I actually settle on a band with few guitar solos, standard song structures and pop-based lyrics? Well, I guess the answer is that for some reason, U2’s music apparently seems to strike a chord with my – this may sound corny, so be warned – soul. I have lost count of the amount of times I have been wowed by their simplistic song structure, coherent band play, and introspective lyrics. For all of these reasons I guess, U2 has the honour of being the band that has produced the most songs that have actually coaxed liquid out of my tearducts LOL.

Dubious confession by a guy who is an ex-RMC graduate LOL, but bear with me. Not all the songs have made me tear due to their emotional content though – sometimes I get emotional just listening to the arrangement, or the energy and meaning behind the song; I like to call the whole affair artistic emotional coherence. Anyway, for fun’s sake I am choosing to list here all of the band’s songs that have successfully acted as tearjerkers for me – maybe you can try them out and see if the same happens to you =p Here goes:

That’s the list for now =) This listing is not permanent and definite – yet more songs could be added over time; the possiblity of this is quite high, as I am still yet to collect five of U2’s full-length studio albums lol – namely the albums of War, The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum and also Achtung Baby =)

The collection shall continue! XD + =D?
